Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enrich the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do.
Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’.
We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over national and regional awards!
We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support, and in return, we invest in pay, recognition, wellbeing, and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support, and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop if you decide to grow your career with us.
One of the values of Community Integrated Care is our passion for our people, and every year we invest in our front-line worker pay in line with the Living Wage increase each April. Our promise has always been clear: we will do everything in our power to improve pay for colleagues. If you start with us between now and 31 March, your pay will be £11.94 per hour, then from 1 April, this will increase to £12.62 per hour.
Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: This is an exciting opportunity for caring, compassionate, and talented Support Workers to work within a well-established service supporting 5 individuals with learning disabilities. This service has a large garden and a communal kitchen, dining room, and lounge, where the people we support engage in house activities, eat their meals, or even have a party or two! The individuals supported here enjoy activities such as walks along the harbour to get a pub lunch and shopping. They describe themselves as a fun bunch and love a good laugh. A great sense of humor is key to supporting them at home.
The staff team here work on a two-shift rota: days are 8 am to 8 pm, and nights are 8 pm to 8 am. There are usually at least three staff members on shift during the day and one at night. We also have opportunities to join the bank team, covering shifts as and when they are available.
We’re looking for candidates who are caring, dedicated, love working with people, and share our values. Prior experience in care isn’t always necessary. If you have other skills and experiences, we will support you to succeed.
Due to the service location, a driving license and vehicle are essential for this role.
Your values: We know it takes a special person to work in social care, and we recognize that not everyone perfect for the role will have professional experience. We’re passionate about recruiting individuals based on their values and recruit from all walks of life, including those with lived experiences, relatives or friends with disabilities, or no experience at all.
It’s important that you share our company values: We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable. These are central to everything we do to ensure high-quality, consistent care and support. We look for qualities such as:
* Patience
* Empathy, compassion, and sensitivity
* A strong work ethic
* Reliability
* Honesty
* Determination
* A problem solver
* Resilience
