Battery Energy Storage Engineer
Salary: £32,682 – £38,300 (DOE)
Location: Bristol
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Battery Energy Storage Engineer to support the Rental team with the logistics, build, commissioning and operation of a growing hybrid fleet.
You’ll be the link between depot teams and customer sites — ensuring systems are set up correctly, supporting engineers, delivering training and keeping equipment performing safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Do
* Work closely with sales and rental teams to ensure correct specification and use of equipment.
* Provide 2nd-line technical support to customers.
* Attend project kick-off meetings and support with equipment specification.
* Manage resources for the maintenance and upkeep of hybrid assets.
* Take a hands‑on approach installing systems and developing engineers’ skills.
* Support depot teams with storage, maintenance and best practices.
* Help allocate hire plant to meet customer requirements.
* Monitor installations and provide feedback on performance.
* Report lost/damaged equipment with appropriate documentation.
* Promote excellent health & safety and comply with ISO standards.
Essential
* Knowledge of the generator/plant hire market.
* Proven BESS / hybrid / energy storage experience.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Customer‑focused approach with strong relationship‑building skills.
* Understanding of electrical installations and load management.
* Confident using Microsoft Office or similar.
