More detail about the role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled, experienced Physiotherapist to join the Physiotherapy Team as part of a Band 6 Medical / Respiratory rotation at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This 12 month fixed term rotational position (maternity leave cover), based at the acute Royal Devon & Exeter hospital, is responsible for providing leadership and clinical expertise on a 12-month rotational basis. We currently have rotations available on ICU, Respiratory Medicine & HDU, Acute & General Medicine wards and Cystic Fibrosis.

Based within the heart of beautiful Devon and just off the M5, Exeter has a lot to offer, with a stunning coastline and picturesque moors within throwing distance of the city. The post-holder will assess and treat patients with complex respiratory conditions including acute admissions and chronic and life-limiting cases. Clinical responsibilities include gathering comprehensive baseline data as part of the assessment process; developing and implementing patient specific plans; management of acute respiratory conditions and progressive rehabilitation. There will be an expectation to liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective discharge or transfer to on-going services within the patient pathway as appropriate.
The position carries a responsibility to support overnight on-call, weekend and bank holiday working on a rota basis.
