Head of Credit & Analytics up to £140,000 basic

A fast-growing UK fintech is seeking a Head of Credit & Analytics to lead its end-to-end credit strategy and portfolio analytics. The company is developing a next-generation flexible line-of-credit product designed to give customers greater control, transparency, and predictable repayments.
This senior leadership role will be responsible for defining creditworthiness, affordability, open banking, and pricing strategies, with a focus on delivering strong unit economics while maintaining positive customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and maintain risk appetite, credit policy, and governance frameworks.
* Develop data strategy across credit bureau, open banking, and alternative data sources.
* Design underwriting frameworks, credit rules, and scorecards covering eligibility, affordability, creditworthiness, and fraud.
* Own limit assignment and risk-based pricing strategies.
* Lead portfolio analytics across acquisition performance, active book monitoring, and collections.
* Define and monitor customer outcome frameworks and intervention strategies.
* Partner with operations teams to optimise arrears and collections strategies.
* Lead credit governance forums and produce board-level management information.
Candidate Profile
* Experienced credit risk professional with a strong background in UK consumer revolving credit or credit cards.
* Proven track record of designing and implementing credit strategies at scale.
* Strong understanding of credit bureau data, open banking datasets, and alternative data sources.
* Strong analytical capability using modern tools such as SQL and Python.
* Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear business decisions.
* Experience working across multiple acquisition channels including aggregators, direct channels, and partnerships.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced or start-up environment.
