We currently have an exciting Data Assistant opportunity in the Research & Analytics Department to join on a maternity contract of up to 12 months. This role supports the provision of data, reports and information to inform the strategic decision making and evidence-based practice of Taylor & Francis books and journals staff globally.
As part of a central team, the Data Assistant would have the opportunity to work on reporting that is key to many departments across the business, while learning new skills including data tools such as Excel, Power BI and SQL. The role will also support users from across the business with queries relating to the work of the team and actively communicating updates on behalf of the team.
The role will involve a wide range of tasks supporting reporting areas across the team, with a focus on Open Access data, submissions and the peer review process amongst others. The role may also be required to assist with projects or other areas of support across the wider team.

The successful candidate will be able to utilise our balanced working model. We ask that candidates live within a commutable distance of our offices to ensure that as a balanced worker they can make it to our office locations to collaborate as required. There is an expectation for a minimum of 3 days per week in-person time in our office in Milton Park, Oxfordshire.
Responsibilities
* Fulfilling data and report requests based on internal/external sources.
* Updating weekly/monthly reports & dashboards.
* Testing new data sets/reports and bug investigation.
* Editing instructions and FAQs.
* Maintaining departmental mapping files, keys and discoverability/training resources.
* Setting up user accounts for reporting systems.
* Developing a good working knowledge of the specialist area in order to answer business queries and develop the required context to deliver on data and reporting requests.
* Co-managing the team inbox, answering queries or directing them to the most relevant team member.
* Organising meetings and compiling agendas within the team and externally.
* Supporting and assisting Data Analysts in the team with their work as needed.

* Proven ability to follow instructions & set processes
* Team player with a flexible, positive approach to supporting others
* Good written and oral communication skills
* A high level of numeracy
* Computer literate and able to pick up new software skills quickly
* Experience working with data in Excel. Experience working with Power BI and SQL would be an advantage, but training will be provided.
* Adaptable and willing to take on new and different responsibilities as they arise
