The School of

Law and Justice Studies within the Faculty of Society and Culture is looking to appoint three Probation Practitioner Apprenticeship Tutor Coaches for a fixed term of 2 years to support the delivery of the Probation Practitioner Apprenticeship Programme.

The programme is externally funded and the team work in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service and the regional Probation areas that it has responsibility for. You will be required to develop and maintain a relationship with apprentices and their employers with the primary goal of providing the apprentices with the necessary coaching support required for them to complete the Probation Practitioner Apprenticeship. You will additionally be required to work with key stakeholders, working together to integrate academic study with the specific responsibilities of the apprentices' work role. You will be required to have a sound knowledge of the work of the Probation Service and the criminal justice sector and also be able to demonstrate an understanding of the requirements of an apprenticeship and apprenticeship standards.

This role will require regular travel to apprentices’ places of employment to support successful qualification achievement. The regions to be covered are: East and West Midlands, North East, Yorkshire and the Humber, North West and Greater Manchester.

Informal enquiries can be made to Justin Moorhead (Probation Practitioner Apprenticeship Programme Lead) on j.a.moorhead@ljmu.ac.uk

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction and development support as well as family-friendly policies.

This is an exciting time to join the university as we deliver the LJMU Strategy 2030 and its vision of LJMU as an inclusive civic university transforming lives and futures, by placing students at the heart of everything we do.

If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.

LJMU values diversity and provides a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can fulfil their potential.

Please note all of our vacancies will be closed to applications at midnight on the advertised closing date, unless otherwise stated.
