What will you be doing?
Norwich Samaritans is a vibrant, dedicated branch of Samaritans, providing vital emotional support to people in distress or at risk of suicide, 24/7, 365 days a year. Our branch is powered by local volunteers and overseen by a committed Board of Trustees. We're looking for new Trustees with diverse skills and fresh perspectives to help guide our charity and ensure we continue to serve our community effectively. Location Primarily Norwich-based; meetings are held at our branch (St Stephen's Square) or via video conferencing.Time Commitment Approximately 8-10 hours per month on average, including attendance at quarterly board meetings and occasional events.Deadline for Applications Sunday 31st August We welcome applicants of all backgrounds who share our commitment to reducing suicide and supporting people in emotional distress. We would like to hear from candidates who can offer experience in one or more of the following areas Finance or accountancy Fundraising or income generation Human resources / people management Legal / governance Marketing, PR, or communications IT / digital Experience of working with or supporting underrepresented communities You do not need previous Trustee experience; we will support you to develop in the role. Ensure good governance of Norwich Samaritans in line with charity law and Samaritans' policies Set the branch's strategic direction alongside fellow Trustees and the Branch Director.
