Are you a passionate and nurturing Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)? Do you have a genuine interest in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and want to make a real difference in a child's educational journey?
We're working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Middleton that is seeking a dedicated EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist SEN provision from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children who have a range of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech and Language Difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The Role:
1. Supporting children in the EYFS within a dedicated SEN provision
2. Delivering tailored interventions and providing 1:1 and small group support
3. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets
4. Promoting a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
5. Using visuals, sensory tools and structured routines to support learning
Ideal Candidate:
1. Experience working with children in EYFS, particularly those with additional needs
2. Calm, patient, and flexible with a strong understanding of SEN
3. Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, sensory play, or TEACCH is desirable
4. Able to build strong relationships with children, staff and families
5. A relevant TA qualification or SEN training is an advantage
