Job Title: Assistant Payroll Manager

Location: London/Hybrid

JGA are partnered with a exciting business based in a vibrant spot in Central London, seeking a new Assistant Payroll Manager for their dynamic and growing business!

Responsibilities:

* Team Supervision: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the payroll team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all processes.
* Client Portfolio Management: Take ownership of a diverse portfolio of client payrolls, varying in size and complexity, ensuring all payrolls are processed accurately and on time.
* Quality Assurance: Review and sign off on payrolls prepared by the team, maintaining high standards of accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
* Leadership Support: Provide ongoing support to the Payroll Manager, contributing to strategic initiatives, resource planning, and overall team performance.
* Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, serving as a key point of contact for all payroll-related matters.
* Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance payroll processes and procedures, implementing changes to drive efficiency and improve service delivery.
* Query Resolution: Act as the escalation point for complex payroll queries from both clients and team members, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Required Experience and Skills:

* Client Payroll Expertise: Proven experience in processing multiple client payrolls within a bureau or outsourced environment.
* Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to supervise and support small to medium-sized payroll teams, promoting a collaborative and high-performing culture.
* Technical Proficiency: Strong technical payroll knowledge, including end-to-end processing and compliance with statutory requirements.
* Manual Calculations: Confident in performing manual payroll calculations when required, ensuring precision and accuracy.
* Excel Skills: Advanced Excel capabilities, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools to support payroll reporting and reconciliation.
