Senior Commercial Manager – Defence Consultancy
Up to £90,000 + Bonus
Department lead position.
Flexible location – based contractually from your closest office. Monthly customer visits and travel across the UK.
Our client, an international consultancy business, is looking for a Senior Commercial Manager to lead the commercial negotiation of new business across the defence space and shape the strategic direction of the commercial function.
Responsibilities
* Identify the risks, liabilities and commitments of contractual agreements and ensure these are clearly understood by the business.
* Review, draft, update and maintain contract documents.
* Monitor and report on performance and compliance against contractual obligations, including commercial performance, financial management and contract management.
* Work with contract delivery teams to ensure management of change request process and change implementation is carried out in line with contracts.
* Report on progress of change requests and projects.
* Review contract performance, assessing commercial risks and ensuring appropriate steps are taken to manage risk.
* Prevent and resolve contractual disputes.
* Assure adherence to Group Commercial Policy.
* Support client engagement teams in all commercial aspects post‑contract signature to achieve orders, profit and cash budget and overall management of the client relationship.
* Support delivery streams responsible for project delivery and provide clear direction while working with the client engagement team.
Qualifications
* Experience working in the defence or aerospace industry is advantageous.
* Growth minding – focused on maximising value and minimising risk.
* Experience working closely with finance, operations and technical specialists.
* Good understanding of both legal terms and conditions and financials.
