Overview
The key function is to support NHS Property Services in delivering building services maintenance and repairs across the NHS to ensure buildings are maintained to high standards and to provide a safe and secure environment for visitors, customers and employees.
Main duties
* Ensure compliance with all processes/procedures and policies that meet organisational standards/requirements including Health & Safety Policy, HTMs (Health Technical Memoranda) and SFG20; implement new or revised policies within own work areas.
* Deliver planned and reactive maintenance services from the PPM planner, ensuring operational standards are maintained at all times. Duties may include testing and inspection of combustion heating services, fault finding, minor repairs or installations and maintaining services and equipment within critical environments.
* Assess problems to determine the best course of action, including complex technical issues.
* Maintain effective site log books at all NHS premises, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
* Work with and support the Projects/Construction team and Technical Supervisor in identifying, scoping, and delivering minor capital works for NHS premises.
* Plan and organise a number of complex activities and adapt within a changing and challenging work environment.

Job responsibilities
Maintenance Technician - Combustion. Based in Walsall - Jubilee House. This is a full-time, permanent role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. This is a mobile role covering the Midlands. Salary from £39,000 (depending on experience).
Requirements
Qualifications - at least one of the following:
* Registered Gas Safe Engineer with ACS qualifications in Domestic and Commercial Gas Installations.
* NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent.
* Formal apprenticeship or craft-trained equivalent.
Additional Requirements:
* Driving licence is essential
* Must be comfortable using technological devices to log jobs
* Desirable to have industry experience
* Ability to work alone and/or as part of a wider team; to work cohesively with other Technical Disciplines
* DBS Checks & DVLA checks may be required

* Deliver scheduled, reactive and remedial maintenance services as directed by the PPM planner (CAFM), helpdesk or Technical Services Supervisor, maintaining operational standards.
* Fault-finding, minor repairs or installations, and maintaining services and equipment within critical environments.
* May be required to undertake tasks in disciplines other than your own.
* Ability to assess problems to determine the best course of action and communicate technical information to various stakeholders.

* BTEC City & Guilds plus relevant experience and training
* Registered Gas Safe Engineer with ACS qualifications in Domestic and Commercial Gas Installations
* NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent
* Formal apprenticeship or craft-trained equivalent
* Full UK Driving Licence
Experience
* Previous experience in a buildings maintenance environment
* Experience working with method statements or permit-to-work regimes
* Experience maintaining services to SFG20
