About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join Cumberland Council's Planning Policy team, which plays a key role in shaping the future of the area through the development and delivery of the Local Plan and other planning policy documents. In this role, you will provide professional planning advice, expertise, and support across all aspects of the planning policy function of the Council, with particular emphasis on the production of the Cumberland Local Plan. Specifically, you will be responsible for drafting policy, conducting site assessments, and supporting the procurement and management of external commissions. You will also prepare background papers for Members and for the Local Plan Examination.
You will work corporately and with external partners to ensure that the Council’s planning policies contribute to community and Council priorities, as well as collaborate with Development Management colleagues to provide effective pre-application and master planning input with developers.
This role is available on a permanent basis.
