Job Description:
Gartner is looking for a proactive Sr. Manager of Speaker Sourcing and Management. This role will be responsible for identifying, researching, and recruiting speakers who can address the diverse and dynamic needs of our conferences, specifically throughout the EMEA region. This role will report into the Associate Director, External Speaker Management who oversees the strategic speaker sourcing team.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
* Recommend the most relevant guest keynote speakers based on a strong understanding of the target audience, regional trends, conference value proposition, and current market analysis.
* Oversee speaker sourcing, contracting, and onboarding for a portfolio of conferences throughout the year.
* Manage conference external speaker budget.
* Ensure maximum ROI from our speaker investments and realize internal process efficiencies by overseeing:
* Fee negotiation and speaker discounts
* Compliance, legal, and billing standards
* Speaker performance
* Identify, secure, and cultivate external partnerships for new speaker talent pipeline.
* Leverage industry contacts and resources to liaise with speakers/speakers’ offices and key stakeholders to set expectations and ensure overall satisfaction.
* Establish and maintain relationships with speakers, industry experts, and influencers.
* Stay updated on industry trends, emerging topics, and popular speakers, particularly in the EMEA region.
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree
* 7+ years of professional experience, including 3+ years of speaker management and/or speaker’s bureau experience
* Ability to build processes and continually realize best practices
* Analytical, financial, and negotiation skills
* Strong executive presence
* Excellent project management and communication skills
* A passion for staying abreast of current events and speakers in technology and business
* Exceptional customer service
* Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to quickly adapt to changes, including last-minute speaker cancellations or shifts, and develop contingency plans to ensure seamless event execution
* Proven ability to master new systems and tools
* Willingness to travel approximately 20% (attend approximately 6-8 conferences annually)
