Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
The Role
The Senior Research Nurse will join the Beatson Clinical Research Facility (BCRF) to support the delivery of cancer clinical trials, including early‑phase, translational, first‑human and phase III studies across adult solid tumour and haematological malignancies. The role involves providing both direct and indirect patient care within established research teams and contributing to the wider research nursing infrastructure.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
Full‑time, fixed‑term 2 years. Base location: The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, within the Beatson Clinical Research Facility (BCRF). Shift pattern: Monday‑Tuesday 9 am‑5 pm, Friday 9 am‑3 30 pm.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver safe, high‑quality patient care within cancer clinical trials
* Support a diverse research portfolio, including early‑phase and advanced therapy studies
* Work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary research teams
* Ensure accurate documentation, data collection and adherence to study protocols
* Maintain strong organisational, communication and IT standards essential for research delivery
Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse (RGN) with post‑registration experience
* Experience in a cancer setting, including SACT delivery
* SACT passport is preferable
* Strong attention to detail, methodical approach and excellent IT skills
