About the role
The National Account Manager will ensure the account defined volume and profitability targets are achieved. You will represent account specific requirements and manage these in line with the Commercial Plan. You will ensure sector specific dynamics are incorporated in the Commercial Plan & forecast process.
Key responsibilities include
* Customer Management: Develop and maintain commercial contact strategy across multiple levels.
* Upselling: Identify and exploit all sales opportunities relevant to the customer and channel.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and manage relationships with key customers.
* Joint Business Planning: Full accountability from planning to execution.
* Commercial Acumen: Input into the Commercial Plan and monitor & manage channel volume and profitability against benchmarks.
* Cross Functional Collaboration: Improve cash flow across sector with finance colleagues.
* Market & Consumer Insights: Communicate trends within the channel to internal functions.
* Delivery: Set and deliver objectives aligned with organizational targets.
* Project Management: Lead and support projects as needed.
* P&L Management: Understand customer P&L and growth levers.
* Team Management: Manage employee activities if managing a team.
What you'll bring
* Experience: 3+ years in sales or buying with a proven track record.
* Business & account planning: Develop strategic plans for managing client accounts.
* Customer understanding: Build strong relationships by understanding needs.
* Selling skills mastery: Demonstrate ability to sell and drive revenue.
* Negotiation/influencing: Effectively negotiate and influence stakeholders.
* Technical skills: Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and virtual presentation skills.
* Ownership & drive: Take responsibility and act proactively.
* Analytical ability: Use data to make informed decisions.
* Relationship building: Maintain effective internal and external relationships.
* Results orientation: Focus on achieving targets.
* Professionalism & emotional maturity: Exhibit high professionalism and EI.
* Team ethic: Collaborate and support colleagues.
Physical and Other Requirements
* Some travel may be required.
* Occasional out of hours work.
* Bachelor’s degree and WSET qualification are advantageous.
