*Job Summary*
MM Band Services, leading supplier of luxury sleeper coaches throughout the UK and EU is seeking a skilled PSV/HGV Mechanic to join our team, specialising in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our coaches. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, as well as experience working with specialised vehicle equipment. The PSV/HGV Mechanic will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and operational efficiency.
*Responsibilities*
* Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance and periodic maintenance on PSV vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical issues using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment. .
* Carrying out vehicle road testing where necessary to determine specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair.
* Interpret schematics and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems effectively.
* Repair or replace components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical wiring.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs carried out on each vehicle.
* Attending roadside breakdowns
* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and maintenance needs.
* Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely to support repair processes.
* Preparing and presenting for MOTs
* Diagnosing vehicle faults and specifying the correct method of repair
*Experience*
* Proven experience in vehicle repair and servicing, specialising in PSV or HGV fleets is essential.
* Electrical experience related to heavy vehicles is highly desirable.
* Mechanical knowledge covering engine systems, transmission repairs, brake systems, and suspension components.
* Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment for complex repairs.
* Ensuring correct paperwork is completed and accurate records maintained ina timely manner.
* Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused approach are essential for success in this role. This position offers a dynamic work environment where technical expertise is valued alongside a commitment to safety and quality service delivery.
* PSV Licence desirable/advantageous

Pay: £45,000.00-£47,000.00 per year
