Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring & implementing Health, Safety & Environmental procedures, company best-practice, carrying out site inspections, ensuring compliance with current legislation and promoting a positive safety culture across all our sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the creation and implementation of health, safety and environmental policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and industry best practices.
* Assist the Head of Safety in fulfilment of Health, Safety and Environment Legislation across all sites.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
* Provide health and safety training, Toolbox Talks and induction programs to employees and sub-contractors, ensuring awareness and understanding of safety procedures.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, carrying out detailed reports and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
* Ensure all operations comply with health, safety & environmental legislation and company policies through monthly inspections.
* Offer guidance to management and employees on health and safety items to help promote a proactive safety culture.
* Help maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, including training sessions, inspections, and incident reports.
* Work closely with project managers, site managers, and external bodies to coordinate health and safety efforts.
Your Qualifications & Experience
* NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate is essential.
* NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety Management for Construction / NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is .
* Experience in a health, safety & environmental role within the construction or similar high-risk sectors.
* Strong understanding of environmental legislation, regulations, and best practices specific to the construction industry.
* An Understanding of Temporary Works.
* Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture.
