Site Engineer Civil Engineering Contractor – Infrastructure & Public Realm Projects | Dumfries / Edinburgh
A well-established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure and public realm projects across Scotland is seeking a Site Engineer to support projects in Dumfries and Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor with a strong pipeline of work, offering exposure to a variety of technically interesting projects and clear career progression.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out setting out and surveying in line with project drawings and specifications
* Interpret technical drawings and ensure accurate delivery of works on site
* Manage and maintain quality assurance (QA) documentation, including ITPs and as-built records
* Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including RAMS and site procedures
* Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and operatives to coordinate daily activities
* Monitor progress and report any technical or site issues
* Assist with site supervision to ensure works are delivered in line with programme requirements
* Support material checks and ensure all works meet required standards and specifications
Requirements
* Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
* Previous experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
* Strong knowledge of setting out, drainage, and groundwork operations
* Experience working on public realm or infrastructure projects (desirable)
* Proficient in AutoCAD and surveying equipment (e.g. Trimble or Leica)
* Good understanding of QA processes and health & safety regulations
* Full UK Driving Licence
