Offer description

Within the Construction environment, consider buying materials, managing large projects, ensuring health and safety, and customer service. We work on approximately 400 developments across the UK, each presenting unique challenges, from new builds on brownfield sites to adapting existing buildings like old factories or hospitals.

We seek individuals who bring fresh ideas and imagination, coupled with the commercial skills to manage people, budgets, and costs. Our construction teams have been recognized with more NHBC Pride in the Job Awards than any other housebuilder for thirteen consecutive years.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Forklift Driver is responsible for managing and controlling the delivery and distribution of materials on site, in line with the construction programme and instructions from the Site Manager, Assistant Site Manager, or Materials Controller.

You will be expected to:

1. Communicate regularly with the Site Manager regarding any changes to the construction schedule.
2. Inform the Site Manager of shortages of blocks, bricks, and silo mix levels to prevent delays.
3. Check all deliveries for quality and correct quantities, recording any issues with the Materials Controller.
4. Store and label materials correctly in designated store areas.
5. Ensure waste materials are loaded into appropriate skips for waste management.
6. Report any defective or damaged materials when collecting or loading out.
7. Inspect the forklift daily for maintenance, with weekly records in the Plant Register.
8. Maintain the forklift's cleanliness and roadworthiness, performing routine maintenance.
9. Inspect plant attachments weekly, recording in the Plant Register.
10. Adhere to safe working practices at all times and report issues to the site manager.
11. Ensure materials loaded on platforms allow for gate closure at loading bays.
12. Perform labouring duties as required.

To succeed in this role, candidates should have:

1. The ability to work independently and use initiative appropriately.
2. Experience working on large domestic housebuilding sites.
3. An appropriate FLT license and a full UK driving license.
4. Relevant Health and Safety awareness.
5. A current CSCS or partner scheme card.
