SUMMARY
The QHSE Associate/Professional is responsible for reviewing and verifying the Safety and Health Policies, Procedures, Plans and training requirements on behalf of AVETTA Operators and Contractor Members. They help maintain the ISO9001 Quality Management System, Avetta’s SSIP Membership and ISO17020 UKAS Accreditation. The QHSE Associate/Professional will deputise for UKAS Accreditation Quality Manager (held by Manager, EMEA QHSE).
This role requires a hybrid schedule in our Maidenhead office (3 days in office, 2 days work from home)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct Manual Audits to assess a Contractor’s Safety and Health Policies, Procedures, Plans and Training documentation required based on exposure hazards associated with services performed. The Audits are intended to ensure compliance with applicable legislation as well as any Client specific requirements. In addition, the HSE Associate/Professional will be responsible for the following:
1. Assist customers with closing gaps or deficiencies as a result of the audit
2. Perform customer verifications and Audit closure assistance
3. Respond promptly to customer inquiries
4. Record details of inquiries, comments and complaints within the Contractor Account Notes
5. Forward customer complaints or concerns to the Audit Manager or other Designated Safety Professional in a timely manner
6. Maintain ISO9001 Quality Management System
7. Maintain SSIP Membership
8. Act as Deputy Accreditation Quality Manager (ISO17020 UKAS Accreditation)
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
9. Ability to interpret and make decisions based on regulatory industry best practices (HSE Legislation), and/or Operator requirements
10. An affinity for learning online software systems
11. Working PC knowledge, windows preferred and related applications
12. Ability to multitask and manage priorities
13. Adaptable to workload fluctuations and intensive deadlines
14. Good written and oral communication skills
15. Bi-lingual proficiency is a plus
16. Problem analysis and problem-solving
17. Ability to read and interpret statistical data, information and documents

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:
23. Health & Safety professional with at least 5 years experience working within an health and safety environment
24. NEBOSH qualified (or equivalent) as a minimum
25. 3+ years experience in contractor pre-qualification
26. Auditing experience is a plus
27. SSIP knowledge (UK based auditors) is a plus (SSIP Auditor will be provided for UK based auditors)
28. Environmental/sustainability experience is a plus
29. Safety and Health program development or editing is a plus
30. European experience a plus
31. Management Systems (ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001) experience is a plus
32. Knowledge of ISO17020 is a plus
