As a Graduate Electrical Engineer based in Woking, you will support client projects, gain increasing responsibility, and progress towards Chartered Engineer status. Your role will involve technical design, quality assurance, and collaboration with senior engineers and client stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Assist senior engineers on discrete tasks under close supervision.
* Complete the Kent Graduate Development Programme.
* Review Basis of Design, philosophies, specifications and relevant documents.
* Undertake specific tasks defined by the supervising engineer, including input to schedules, datasheets and technical requisitions.
* Ensure equipment compatibility and conformance with client specifications and requirements per contract.
* Comply with Kent’s ISO Quality procedures, Project Quality Plan and Design Integrity processes, and other accredited frameworks such as ISO 14001.
* Provide input to preparation of deliverables by other engineers.
* Provide input and support to decision‑making by other engineers.
* Perform related duties as agreed with supervising engineer.
* Perform other ad‑hoc tasks as needed, within the reasonable scope of the employee’s skills and capabilities.
Qualifications
* Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or similar accredited by the IET.
* Awareness of applicable international and industry specifications, standards and codes.
* Knowledge of safety and quality procedures and best practice.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, engaging effectively with team and clients.
* Excellent command of the English language in oral and written communication.
* High level of MS Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
* Flexible, enthusiastic and methodical approach to project work.
* Self‑motivated and comfortable taking responsibility across a range of tasks.
* Desire to work collaboratively, challenge yourself, and find new solutions.
* Enthusiasm and drive to develop skills and seek out development opportunities within a supportive team.
* Analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
* Embrace equality, diversity and inclusion in everything you do.
* Motivation to achieve professional accreditation (where applicable).
* Comfortable to embrace agile ways of working and learning new technologies.
* Awareness of international specifications and codes.
* Knowledge of safety and quality procedures.
* Due to graduate in 2026 or have graduated in the last two years.
