Head of KS3 History | Dynamic Secondary School & Sixth Form

Location: Angmering / Littlehampton Area

Salary: Competitive + TLR 3C (£3,478)

Contract Type: Permanent, 1.0 FTE (Part-time/Flexible applications welcome)

Start Date: September 2026

Randstad Education is seeking an ambitious and talented Head of KS3 History to join a successful Humanities team within a large secondary school (1,300+ students). This school is recognized for effectively delivering outcomes that prepare students for the next stage of their education and employment.


The Role

As the Lead for Key Stage 3 History, you will be a driving force in the department, ensuring high standards of learning and teaching. You will:

* Lead with Presence: Maintain a strong classroom presence and use outstanding interpersonal skills to foster a positive learning environment.
* Drive Attainment: Use explicit and deliberate teaching of knowledge and skills to ensure outstanding outcomes for all students.
* Evidence-Informed Practice: Lead on planning, assessment, intervention, and data tracking to meet department and school performance goals.
* Curriculum Expertise: Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge, with a clear understanding of the requirements for History at both GCSE and A-Level.
* Promote Engagement: Increase student participation in History and lead vibrant extra-curricular activities.
