FinOps Engineer - £90,000 Location: Remote/Hybrid Future Team Growth: Yes - role is pivotal as AI & cloud investment increases. Role Summary This is a true Lead FinOps role - not a junior cost-optimisation analyst. They're looking for someone who has been there, seen it, done it across FinOps process maturity, cloud cost governance, cross‑team collaboration, and cloud financial management. The person will take ownership of: FinOps practices, guardrails, policies & controls Working across engineering, infrastructure, product, and finance teams Leading cloud cost optimisation across Azure and ideally AWS Driving accountability, transparency, and reporting Ensuring cloud cost models support upcoming major AI investment This role sits in Infrastructure today but is expected to grow into a larger FinOps function later. Core Requirements Technical Deep experience in FinOps, ideally working in a mature FinOps culture Strong knowledge of Microsoft licensing, Azure cost structures, EA agreements, reservations, savings plans Broad understanding of Azure architectures Bonus: exposure to AWS cost management Strong processes/control mindset: tagging standards, budgets, governance Soft Skills Exceptional communication & stakeholder management Must be comfortable working across Product, DevOps, Infra & Finance Able to challenge teams respectfully and influence spend behaviour Senior enough to talk to directors, CTO, product leadership Ways of Working Hybrid Some travel required: London, East Mids as needed
