Yunex Traffic is looking for aspiring undergraduates to join our RUC team on a 12-month internship contract as part of our Intern Development Programme.

As our cities get bigger and more complex, Yunex Traffic makes mobility safer, more efficient, and more sustainable with forward-looking infrastructure and transport solutions. Yunex Traffic designs, markets, manufactures, installs, and maintains a wide portfolio of international traffic management products and is the UK market leader in the traffic signal business. This includes intersection and pedestrian traffic controllers, intelligent urban traffic control systems, variable message signs, public transport, and car park guidance systems to enhance road safety and improve traffic flow in congested urban and inter-urban areas.

The challenge

Part of being a #TrafficTransformer intern at Yunex Traffic means you’ll gain practical experience working on real projects in a leading, global intelligent traffic systems company. You’ll bring fresh perspective to what we do, helping us to achieve our goals.

Here is a taste of what you can expect from this internship:

Supporting the RUC management team, from project work to general maintenance activities, across multiple customer contracts.

1. Work with teams from across our department to gain in-depth knowledge and understanding of business systems and process.
2. Learn to use tools such as PowerApps and Power BI to collect and process data.
3. Help our teams understand and visualise data so they can make key business decisions.
4. Day top day planning of Engineers.
5. Planning work for subcontractors, while keeping track of progress and keeping within budget.

The location of this apprenticeship role will be Enfield, London.

The candidate

We are looking for forward-thinking, inquisitive candidates who demonstrate the following characteristics:

6. Interest in management and field related activities with a drive to build experience in this area.
7. Confidence to communicate and work with colleagues at all levels including Contract Managers, Commercial teams and the wider business.
8. Good organisation skills and have the ability to manage report deadlines whilst understanding importance of prioritisation
9. Enthusiasm and willingness to learn with a proactive approach
10. Ownership attitude for areas of responsibility.
11. Good knowledge of Microsoft applications with an interest in advancing skill in this area.

Minimum Educational Requirements

12. Aiming towards or having achieved a 2:1 or above in a civil engineering, business or similar STEM topic degree.

Recruitment Process

Applications for our Internships will close on 2nd February 2026.

For this role, we will be holding virtual interviews, some roles may also require attendance to a in-person interview, or assessment centre. Assessment centres typically include a combination of tasks and activities such as group problem-solving tasks, individual interviews, presentations, and role simulation exercises. Interviews are typically competency based and a chance for us to find out what your motivations are for your next career.

Our Interns will join the business in 7th September 2026, so you must be available from this date.

Right to Work

Please note, if you are applying for an internship at Yunex Traffic, you must have the Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the 15 months. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to sponsor anyone joining us on our Internship Development Programme who doesn’t have valid right to work in the UK.

26. You have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship
27. Confirmation that you intend to remain in the UK for the duration of the internship and will be available to work in the relevant Yunex Traffic office for a minimum of 3 days per week
28. Confirmation that the internship forms part of a formal university placement year

OR

29. Is unrelated to a university formal industrial placement year

OR

30. You are subject to reduced working hours restrictions during “term time” along with details of dates where restriction apply
31. Whether you have any deadlines to confirm your internship or placement year
