During this challenging time for dentistry, joining NHS Fife’s Public Dental Service (PDS) will allow you to contribute to our recovery plan, whilst developing your career. Dental Services across Scotland have been impacted by COVID-19 and the PDS will continue to play a critical role. In addition to providing urgent dental care, you will also play an important role in the prevention of oral health disease, meeting the needs of the ageing population and reducing oral health inequalities.
The available post offers an exciting opportunity for a Dental Officer to provide a comprehensive range of treatment for registered and access patients working under the GDS regulations. Within the Paediatric service you will provide dental care for child priority groups and referred patients while working closely with the Paediatric specialist to develop skills in sedation or general anaesthetic and have the opportunity to use them.
We are looking for clinicians who make patient care their first priority and who thrive working with a number of different patient groups. In return, the PDS provides an exciting working environment with access to first class training and development opportunities.
The post will be based in West and Central Fife. The PDS is a Fife Wide service with 12 clinics spread between Rosyth and Cupar, you must be able to travel throughout the Kingdom providing and maintaining the level of care our patients and clients deserve.
For informal enquiries please contact, Louise Kroegler Clinical Director on 01592 226525 or fife.fifecds@nhs.scot
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service.
As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK website here.
For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be found here.
It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form.
We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.
