We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Payroll Advisor to join our Finance team at Country House Weddings Ltd. This part-time position is ideal for a payroll professional who enjoys accuracy, compliance, and providing expert advice to managers and teams across our venues.
You’ll take ownership of the full payroll cycle — ensuring our weekly and monthly pay runs are completed efficiently — while also advising on payroll queries, statutory payments, and best practice processes. You’ll work closely with Finance and HR to support data accuracy, reporting, and system improvements.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead on weekly and monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance
* Provide advice and support to managers and staff on payroll-related matters
* Process SSP and manage absence records, ensuring compliance with current legislation
* Assist with HR data cleansing and maintenance of accurate employee records in payroll and HR systems
* Produce payroll and HR-related reports, including management summaries and venue-level data
* Ensure wage sheets are correct, approved, and distributed to Venue Managers
* Act as the main point of contact for all payroll and PAYE queries
* Manage statutory deductions, including court orders, AEOs, and student loans
* Support the Finance Manager with payroll analysis and process improvements
* Assist in the implementation and optimisation of the Harri system
* Maintain professionalism, discretion, and accuracy at all times
About You
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a payroll experience
* Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, including SSP, SMP, and other statutory payments
* Confident managing weekly and monthly payrolls end-to-end
* Experience using the Harri system is desirable
* Experience within retail/hospitality sector is advantageous
* Excellent communication and advisory skills
* High attention to detail, strong Excel skills, and experience producing payroll and HR reports
* Proactive, organised, and able to work independently across multiple venues

Additional Information
This role is a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave for an initial period of 9 months, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months depending on the return date of the employee on maternity leave.
This is a part time role 3 days per week working on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
