We are recruiting for a Driver based at our Heywood Hub. The weekly base hours for this position are 40, with a start time of 5am.
Please note that this is a 3-month contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
The role of the Delivery Driver is essential to maintaining the highest level of service to our customers. As the primary face-to-face contact, you play a significant role in upholding a positive and reliable reputation for the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Log in to the telematics system before commencing your daily duties.
2. Deliver the Company’s stock to customers by van or other vehicle as directed by Management.
3. Make deliveries on time according to schedules provided by Management and obtain signatures for deliveries when required.
4. Report any missing or damaged goods to the Customer Service team and record these in the system using the scanning equipment provided.
5. Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects to your line manager.
6. Maintain the vehicle in a clean condition, both inside and outside.
7. Keep delivery information sheets up to date and available for relief or agency drivers covering the run.
8. Uplift and return stock from customers, along with the relevant paperwork, to your designated area. Collect fridge returns only if advised by Customer Service.
9. Be presentable at all times, wearing the uniform and PPE provided.
10. Complete mandatory training and attend hub meetings as required.
Experience
* Experience with multiple drops and navigating to unfamiliar locations.
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Positive interpersonal skills.
* Reliability.
* Full UK Driver's license.
