Our Aberdeen based client is currently seeking an experienced buyer to join their team. The role will be on permanent (staff) basis and offers the flexibility of hybrid working. ROLE The Buyer is responsible for the end-to-end procurement of materials and services to support project delivery and operational requirements. The role focuses on ensuring cost-effective sourcing, timely delivery, and strong supplier performance while maintaining compliance with company procedures and project specifications. RESPONSIBILITIES: Procurement & Sourcing: Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) Evaluate supplier quotations and prepare bid comparisons Source and procure materials efficiently and cost-effectively Negotiate pricing and commercial terms Raise and manage Purchase Orders Supplier Management & Expediting: Act as primary supplier contact Monitor supplier performance and expedite deliveries Issue order progress reports Organise Pre-Production Meetings (PPMs) Expedite supplier documentation Project & Stakeholder Support: Attend project kick-off meetings Collaborate with internal teams Provide procurement updates Represent supply chain at meetings Order Management & Administration: Maintain procurement trackers Manage goods receipt and system updates Resolve invoice discrepancies Ensure compliance with procedures Performance & Continuous Improvement: Manage multiple projects simultaneously Improve supplier performance and reduce costs Support process improvements Additional Responsibilities Support training and development Develop procurement knowledge and skills Complete relevant training to progress as a Buyer REQUIREMENTS Experience in procurement or supply chain Strong negotiation skills Ability to multitask and meet deadlines Strong communication skills High attention to detail Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems
