Multi-skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) - 36 hours per week
* Week 1 - 06:00-13:30 Monday to Thursday and 06:00 - 12:00 on Friday
* Week 2 - 13:30-21:00 Monday to Thursday and 12:00-18:00 Friday
* Probationary Period Hours - days based 08:00-17:00 for training purposes.
We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias). As a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will report directly to the Facilities Manager, in what will be a very much hands-on pro-active role. You will be responsible for all aspects of fault diagnosing, electrical and mechanical repair and maintenance of machinery including automated assembly cells / injection moulding / hydraulic presses.
As Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer The role will also involve some electrical installation work throughout the site on things such as armoured cable feeding new machinery and equipment, lighting, and power installations throughout the plant as well as completing PPM activities of factory services and equipment and also supporting new installations of plant and other equipment.
Main Purpose of the Role
* To maintain all electrical and mechanical equipment on site including services, distribution, plant machinery and miscellaneous equipment in accordance with relevant current legislation and ensure that documentation and records are kept accordingly.
* To carry out electrical installation work when required for new plant, machinery, equipment, and services ensuring compliance with the relevant current legislation.
* To meet requirements of all departments at Ashton Road in their daily operations by carrying out various electrical and mechanical works.
* To be proactively involved in monitoring the condition of services and machinery reporting defects to the Facilities Manager immediately.
Main Responsibilities & Duties
* To carry out both reactive and planned maintenance throughout the site.
* Fault find, diagnose and repair (where possible), faults that occur in the building services, plant, machinery, and other equipment.
* Assist with the training of apprentices and any other training needs of maintenance team.
* Ensure that all work is carried out to current safety standards, to an agreed standard and meets with current legislation.
Essential Criteria
* NVQ Level 3 or above in electrical / multi-skilled discipline.
* Apprentice Trained (or equivalent).
* Good mechanical knowledge/experience.
* PLC, HMI experience.
Desirable Criteria:
* Previous experience of working in a factory environment
* BS 7671 18th Edition
* IPAF
