Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Medical Engineering Technician within the Medical Physics Team at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary to support the delivery of a medical equipment management service.
The postholder will provide medical equipment management services to NHS and other customers, supporting the clinical use of highly specialist medical equipment in critical care units, theatres, general wards and community sites. Tasks include fault finding, repairing breakdowns, performing scheduled preventive maintenance, safety checks, assisting with investigations of medical equipment related incidents and problem solving in the clinical environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide medical equipment management services to NHS and other customers across multiple sites.
* Fault finding and repair of breakdowns; perform scheduled preventive maintenance and safety checks.
* Assist with investigations of medical equipment related incidents and contribute to problem solving in clinical environments.
* Support the day-to-day running of the service; travel to and work at various hospitals and clinics within the board.
Qualifications and experience
* Degree or technical HND or equivalent qualification in electronics or medical engineering.
* Experience in an electronic servicing role.
* Experience with anaesthesia and ventilation equipment is advantageous.
Person specification
* Self-motivated and able to work effectively within a team; good interpersonal skills; flexible and methodical in approach.
* Willingness to travel to multiple sites as required.
