Nationwide (for South Yorkshire based Company) – Subcontractor Position
About the Role
AMP Renewable Energy Ltd are seeking experienced Lead Solar PV Roofers to support the delivery of commercial and domestic solar projects across the UK. This subcontractor role is suited to highly skilled individuals who can lead an installation team, uphold safety and quality standards, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the installation of Solar PV systems on commercial and domestic sites.
* Oversee and coordinate subcontractor team to ensure safe, compliant, and high‑quality work.
* Ensure installations follow technical drawings and manufacturer requirements.
* Complete DC wiring, testing and commissioning.
* Follow health and safety procedures, RAMS, and site protocols.
* Liaise with Site Manager to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Identify and resolve on‑site issues, escalating where necessary.
* Proven experience as a Solar PV Roofer.
* Strong understanding of Solar PV systems, inverters, mounting systems, and electrical integration.
* Ability to assess roof conditions and identify/perform necessary roof repairs.
* Heavy lifting & use of power tools.
* Valid CSCS/ECS card.
* Photo ID.
* Ability to lead team and work independently with minimal supervision.
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
* Own Public Liability Insurance.
* CIS Registered.
* Working at Height certification or be willing to obtain.
* Fire Safety certification or be willing to obtain.
* Knowledge of commercial‑scale PV installations.
* Asbestos Awareness certification or be willing to obtain.
* Hold valid EDBS or be willing to obtain.
* UK Driving Licence.
