Role: Electrician
Location: HMP Hollesley Bay
Salary: £40,579.20 inclusive of allowances +5% additional for recognition of weekend working
Contract: Permanent, full time – 39 hours per week, Monday to Sunday
Responsibilities
As an Electrician, you will work alongside experienced colleagues across the Facilities Maintenance Team, assisting in the safe operation and maintenance of the prison’s electrical systems. Your role will include installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical equipment, completing scheduled preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
* Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
* Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S; e.g., 2367 or 2357).
* Fully qualified electrician with at least two years’ experience.
* Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
* Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations.
* Strong health & safety knowledge.
* Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
