Job Details
* Salary: Grade 8 (£34,314.00 - £37,035.00)
* Location: St James Road, Dudley

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Income Management Officer within the Income team. We are passionate about providing excellent customer service to Dudley MBC customers and delivering high performance, with monthly reductions in rent arrears collection rates, even in challenging financial times. This involves maximising income, debt recovery, and providing support, advice, information, and guidance to customers to avoid financial difficulties. The post holder will also have responsibilities such as Court work, complex cases, Use & Occupation accounts, Former Tenancy Arrears, Projects, Prisoners, and Deceased accounts.
Key Requirements
* Contribute to and develop rent recovery processes.
* Manage staff to promote efficient service operation.
* Support policy development and service improvements through research.
* Have strong financial literacy and understanding of income management.
* Work effectively with residents facing financial difficulties.
* Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of welfare benefits systems and relevant legislation.
* Develop systems and processes to maximise income and efficiency.
* Produce statistical data and performance reports.
* Represent Dudley council at court for possession proceedings.
* Plan and monitor service improvement projects.
* Experience with NEC housing system and training others on software developments.
* Conduct home visits to engage with customers and resolve debt issues.
* Respond to enquiries from internal and external customers via various communication methods.
* Work flexibly, including outside normal hours, to meet service needs.
* Support safeguarding procedures to ensure customer safety and well-being.
