Job Opportunity: Court Usher

Our MOJ client seeks a court usher to join the team on a temporary basis until September 2025, with a probable extension. The pay rate is £12.21 per hour.

The role is based at Chesterfield County Court and offers valuable experience within the courts.

The position is full-time (37 hours/week, Monday to Friday), with an expected duration until September 2025, and potential for extension.


Responsibilities

* Greeting members of the public
* Interacting professionally with judiciary, witnesses, jurors, and court users
* Performing administrative duties such as data entry, handling queries, and preparing juror packs
* Walking jurors within the court premises while maintaining social distancing
* Preparing court rooms
* Supporting court users, including first-time visitors
* Filing documents


Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates are confident, enjoy engaging with diverse court users, and possess excellent customer service skills and a passion to assist people.


Required Skills

* Strong basic administrative experience
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to remain calm in challenging situations
* Professional demeanor when interacting with court users


Additional Information

The pay rate is £12.21/hr, with benefits including holiday pay and pension scheme. Full training will be provided, starting with basic duties and greeting, followed by work at Lincoln Courts upon completion.
