We assist all employers when they want to source public safety and enterprise security skills and experience.Senior Accommodation Support WorkerLocation: Sandwell\*\*This role will widen across the Black Country as additional accommodation provision is developed.Salary: £28,861.56 - £33,786 (dependent on experience)Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am-5pmContract: Full-timeReporting to: Accommodation Services ManagerTravel: Required - must have access to own vehicleOccupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 - the post holder must be femaleAbout the OrganisationWe are a specialist charity providing trauma-informed support to victims and survivors of domestic abuse, modern slavery and other forms of violence and exploitation. Our accommodation services offer safe, supportive environments where women, children and, in some provisions, male victims can recover, rebuild confidence and move towards independence.Our Accommodation Services Directorate manages a growing portfolio of refuge and dispersed accommodation, including:24-hour refuge accommodation for women and childrenDispersed domestic abuse accommodation (HMOs, flats and houses)Resettlement support following departure from accommodationSafehouse and dispersed accommodation for victims of modern slaveryAccess to counselling, community-based support and specialist advocacy servicesDue to continued expansion, we are recruiting a Senior Accommodation Support Worker to provide leadership, oversight and high-quality direct support within our refuge services.The RoleThe Senior Accommodation Support Worker will be based within domestic abuse accommodation services but may be required to support other accommodation-based services where necessary.This is both a leadership and frontline role. You will supervise intervention/support workers (non-case holding), oversee the quality of support delivered to residents and their children, and ensure a safe, empathetic and empowering environment that promotes independence and recovery.You will also ensure contractual targets and KPIs are met while maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health & safety and service delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & OversightProvide direct line management, supervision and guidance to allocated staff, students and volunteersSupport staff to develop high-quality, evidence-based support plansOversee referral decisions, risk assessments and allocation of accommodationEnsure performance targets and contractual requirements are achievedManage staff rotas to ensure safe and consistent staffing levelsSupport induction, training and ongoing development of the teamResident Support & AdvocacyEnsure residents with complex and high-risk needs receive consistent emotional and practical supportMaintain direct engagement with residents to understand their experiences and ensure needs are metSupport residents to understand licence agreements, rent/service charges and partner agency rolesLead and coordinate group interventions and recovery-focused programmesAdvocate for residents' rights with housing, legal, health and welfare agenciesOversee safe case closure, ensuring safeguarding actions and documentation are completeAccommodation & ComplianceEnsure the safety and security of accommodation sitesMonitor health & safety standards and report concerns appropriatelyRespond to and resolve conflicts within accommodation settingsWork collaboratively with finance colleagues to monitor rent collection and housing benefit processesMaintain accurate records across all required systems and databasesAbout YouEssentialLevel 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field (e.g. health & social care, housing, community work)Experience undertaking risk and needs assessments and developing support plansExperience working with vulnerable people with complex or multiple disadvantagesExperience of advocacyExperience of meeting targets within a structured service environmentStrong knowledge of domestic abuse and the barriers faced by victimsUnderstanding of safeguarding, risk management and safety planningExcellent communication and partnership-building skillsAbility to supervise or support staff, students or volunteersStrong organisational skills and ability to manage competing demandsConfident using Microsoft Office and data recording systemsFull UK driving licence with access to a vehicleEligible to work in the UKAdditional RequirementsParticipation in an on-call rotaOccasional evening/weekend work where requiredTravel across accommodation sites, with flexibility to support additional servicesDuties may evolve in line with service developmentBenefits25 days annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays1 Wellbeing Day (pro rata)Annual leave buy-back scheme5% employer pension contributionMileage allowanceTime off in lieu (TOIL) for overtimeEmployee Assistance ProgrammeAccess to group clinical supervision (BACP-trained counsellor)Training and development opportunitiesBi-annual staff away daysRegular internal staff newsletterDue to the high volume of applications we receive, if you do not hear from us within 7 working days, your application has been unsuccessful.If this role is not for you but you do know somebody who would be interested, please feel free to refer them to us!
