Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dedicated team. As the Senior Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in our culinary department, ensuring the highest quality of food is delivered to our customers. As the Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, manage the kitchen staff, and ensure the smooth running of all culinary activities. Your creative flair and attention to detail will be crucial as you assist in developing new menus, ensuring they are both innovative and aligned with customer preferences. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene, as well as helping to control costs and manage inventory.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan menus, taking into consideration customer preferences and dietary restrictions
· Oversee food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards
· Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of kitchen staff
· Monitor and manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to minimise waste and control costs
· Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, conducting regular inspections and training sessions
· Assist in the development and introduction of new dishes, ensuring they are innovative and meet customer demands
· Collaborate with other departments to coordinate catering services for events and functions.

Requirements
Person Specification:
· Proven experience as a Sous Chef or relevant role
· Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
· Excellent leadership and team management skills
· Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently under pressure
· Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
· Creativity and ability to develop new menu concepts
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
You will need to have the Right to Work in the UK or be able to obtain this by the start date. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
Benefits
Hours, benefits and salary:
This is a full-time role working 40 hours a week over 5 days. Due to the nature of the role, you may be expected to work evenings and weekends, particularly during our busiest periods at Christmas and during the Cricket Season. You may also be required to work overtime when needed and will receive time off in lieu.
The salary for this role is £35,000 per annum.
