This food manufacturing plant in Haverfordwest is currently undergoing capital investment, and some great projects are coming up. Due to a retirement, we are looking for a multi-skilled engineer to join the team.
You will be working a 2 days 2 nights 4 off shift pattern, with 3 engineers on your shift rotation with a total of 16 on the engineering team, the majority of whom have been with the business over 8 years.
You will have the chance to work with a variety of innovative equipment, from automation systems to plant infrastructure, gaining you invaluable experience with cutting-edge technology.

1. Basic salary including shift allowance £49,275.00

The Role of a Maintenance Engineer
As an Engineer, you will maintain, troubleshoot and make repairs to a wide range of processing equipment, ensuring efficient and reliable manufacturing operations across the plant.
Specifically, you will work with automation, pumps, compressors, pipework, actuators, conveyors, packaging machinery and other varied process equipment, working in a safe and compliant manner at all times, upholding safe working practices.
Seeking to maximise efficiency, you will complete planned and unplanned works, monitor the condition of equipment and diagnose, analyse and repair PLC control systems. You will also maintain electrical equipment, motors, drives, test electrical circuits and diagnose electrical faults and implement repairs.
Additionally, you will:
1. Communicate and report key information and support shift handovers
2. Oversee and support contractors and service engineers
3. Complete daily site walkarounds
4. Highlight issues to engineering management
5. Undertake stock counts
Skills and Qualifications needed in this Maintenance Engineer's Role
To be considered as an Engineer, you will need:
1. Ideally, you will be an Apprentice Trained Engineer to a minimum of a level 3 Qualification (HNC, BTEC, City & Guilds, etc). This is essential!
2. Prior experience working within a manufacturing or FMCG setting
3. A proactive individual with the ability to combine leadership and technical skills
4. Good working knowledge of and the ability to use the full suite of Microsoft Office applications
5. A broad understanding of SCADA systems, network data communications, graphical user interfaces and PLCs would be an advantage, but don't let this put you off we can train and develop you!
