This is a full-time, long-term position perfect for someone committed to empowering young people who experience social, emotional, and mental health challenges in their educational journey. About the Role: You will be instrumental in supporting students with SEND, specifically those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, and complex behavioural presentations. Your key responsibilities will include: Delivering targeted 1:1 and small group interventions for pupils facing behavioural and emotional barriers Creating and maintaining a nurturing learning environment through consistent, empathetic behaviour management Managing crisis situations with de-escalation techniques and encouraging constructive decision-making Collaborating effectively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to implement personalised support plans Serving as a trusted mentor and positive influence for vulnerable students The Ideal Candidate Will Possess: Demonstrable experience supporting young people with complex behavioural needs, preferably within an SEMH school, PRU, or similar specialist environment Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and therapeutic approaches to behaviour management Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability in conflict de-escalation Emotional resilience, empathy and the ability to remain composed under pressure Recognised behaviour management training such as Team Teach or MAPA would be advantageous Current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or readiness to obtain one Why Choose Tradewind Recruitment?
