Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line chef to join our team at The Greyhound higham As a Line Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This is a vital role in our restaurant, ensuring that our customers receive high-quality meals that meet their expectations.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and guidelines provided
- Ensure food is cooked to the correct temperature and presented in an appealing manner
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during busy periods
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to sanitation standards
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Experience:
- experience as a Line Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preffered but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Skills:
- Proficient in cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, baking, and frying
- Familiarity with various kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adapt as necessary
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple orders simultaneously
- Knowledge of proper food storage procedures
