Key ResponsibilitiesYou will support the delivery of high-quality legal services by providing advice and representation on a broad range of housing litigation matters. Your responsibilities will include: • Managing a caseload of social housing matters, including disrepair, rent possession cases, applications to suspend evictions, tenancy succession, access injunctions, and neighbourhood disputes • Representing the organisation in court, including County Court, Magistrates Court, and First-tier Tribunal hearings • Preparing legal documents, drafting witness statements, and ensuring cases are fully prepared for hearings • Providing clear and practical legal advice on housing management issues, rights, responsibilities, and legal options • Liaising with colleagues across the organisation and maintaining strong working relationships with external partners, including courts, enforcement agencies, and the judiciary • Supporting colleagues through training and updates on changes in housing law and procedure • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Civil Procedure Rules, and professional conduct standards • Assisting with team support where required, including providing cover for Legal Assistants
About You • Will consider newly qualified Solicitors, with at least one strong training seat in housing management, litigation, or 1-2+ years PQE • Experience in housing litigation, including case handling and court advocacy • Strong understanding of relevant housing legislation, case law, and Civil Procedure Rules • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly • Strong drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and time management • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team • Proactive, professional, and adaptable approach to work • Experience using legal databases and Microsoft Office • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders • Resilient and confident when handling sensitive or challenging situations, including working with distressed clients
