Engineering Project Manager
A manufacturing organisation in the Hartlepool area is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to deliver CapEx and OpEx projects safely, on time, and within budget. This role offers end to end project responsibility and the opportunity to contribute to long term process safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Role
• Lead engineering projects from concept and specification through to installation and commissioning
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and delivery milestones
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, company, and process safety standards
• Take ownership of HSQE compliance across the full project lifecycle
• Provide technical expertise to support successful project delivery
• Engage internal teams and external suppliers to meet project objectives
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare project proposals, business cases, and justifications
• Obtain project approval and formal sign off
• Develop and maintain project plans including budgets, specifications, Gantt charts, and progress reports
• Embed process safety and risk management from early design stages
• Manage internal and external resources during installation and commissioning
• Maintain accurate project documentation including designs, specifications, vendor and performance data
• Support scale up projects from pilot plant to full scale production
• Provide early life support through handover and completion
• Contribute to efficiency improvements and cost reduction initiatives
Ideal Candidate
• Project Manager with proven experience delivering engineering CapEx and OpEx projects
• Strong understanding of process safety, compliance, and HSQE requirements
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, and project risk
• Comfortable working cross functionally with operations, engineering, and management teams
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify improvement opportunities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
