The Governor Body of Llanfechain Church in Wales Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and committed individual, who has a high level of self-motivation, to lead a unique education opportunity in Powys and is offering a three day a week headteacher post.
The main focus of the post will be strategic leadership and management within the school with initially, and approximately, half day a week of teaching responsibility.
Our recent Estyn inspection (July 2024) highlighted our school as a “happy, supportive and inspirational learning community “where the pupils are “proud of their school and appreciate the care and nurture they receive.” This underpins a lot of what we do. Estyn also noted our “interesting and balanced curriculum” which reflects the needs of our pupils as well as the values and context of our school. The successful candidate will be a headteacher who will build on this alongside the conscientious and dedicated team of staff to continue to achieve the best possible for the pupils and the school community.

Specific responsibilities include:

The successful candidate will need:
9. to be fully qualified, including NPQH if applicable;

13. effective interpersonal and collaborative skills;
14. evidence of raising achievement;
15. the ability to be active, enthusiastic, creative and inspirational;
16. a commitment to continuing professional development;
17. a commitment to developing the Welsh language and culture.
