Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our service. The post holder will have proven clinical and leadership skills and be able to manage complex forensic patients in outpatient settings. The post holder will join the medical team within Fromeside medium secure unit. They will be the responsible clinician for Kennet Ward, a male rehabilitation ward, and will provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will also be expected to provide clinical leadership within the wider service.
Responsibilities
* Provide input into the care, treatment and risk management for patients under their care, including agreeing care pathways, organising admission and safe discharge planning.
* Act as part of a gatekeeping service for secure beds for those with mental illness.
* Lead risk assessment and risk management as a core part of the role.
* Liaise with other agencies including local authority personnel, independent sector services, service users and carers.
* Provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team and within the wider service.
Qualifications and experience
* Full GMC registration.
* Ideally CCT in Forensic Psychiatry or experience working within an inpatient setting.
