Job Title: Fund Controller (Real Estate Funds)
We are seeking a qualified Fund Controller to oversee the financial reporting and control functions for our Real Estate funds within the European business. The role involves managing relationships with third-party administrators, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting various operational and strategic activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare quarterly fund and SPV financial reports, managing detailed timetables and ensuring timely delivery.
* Manage external TPAs to ensure high-quality reporting, process controls, and KPIs are met.
* Proactively manage the external audit relationship, respond promptly to queries, and adhere to audit timetables.
* Collaborate with Fund Operating Officers and Asset Managers to produce quarterly property, fund management, and investor reports.
* Assist with ad hoc investor financial queries, investment and loan valuations, and maintaining track records and KPIs.
* Support investment acquisitions and disposals through collaboration with Asset Management and Origination teams.
* Deliver draft financials for inclusion in reports within agreed timelines.
* Brief Asset Managers on quarterly financial accounts for their projects.
* Escalate key issues early to facilitate proactive resolutions.
* Monitor statutory financial reporting requirements across all entities and ensure filings are completed on time.
* Review and improve existing processes to enhance efficiencies and mitigate risks.
* Manage treasury activities, including hedging contracts, cash management, and bank account administration.
* Oversee preparation of direct tax returns, including VAT and CIT across European jurisdictions.
Requirements:
* Qualified accountant with practice or in-house experience.
* Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
* Experience in financial accounting and control, preferably within the Real Estate fund industry.
* Proven ability to implement operational and financial efficiencies.
* Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
* Strong project management and relationship management skills, with experience managing third-party relationships.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Detail-oriented and thorough in approach.
* Commercially aware and professional.
* Knowledge of UK real estate taxation, both direct and indirect.
* Experience managing audit processes and liaising with audit teams.
Holidays: 25 days per year plus 10 bank holidays and local public holidays in Scotland.
