Job Description:
ASML brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips.
Introduction
ASML designs, develops, integrates, markets, and services advanced lithography machines enabling leading chipmakers to produce smaller, more powerful microchips. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, Netherlands, with 18 offices in the US, including Wilton, CT, Chandler, AZ, San Jose, CA, and San Diego, CA.
Job Description
This co-op position will begin during the Spring 2020 semester
As a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op, you will participate in developing parts of the lithography system and tooling, working on robotics, mechatronics, precision mechanics, and optomechanics. You will consider kinematics, dynamics, material properties, and structural, dynamic, and thermal analysis. Precision machine design involves understanding functional requirements and deriving specifications.
You will collaborate with system architects in a multidisciplinary team to develop concepts, perform analyses, build and test prototypes, generate CAD designs, create drawings, partner with suppliers, and support system integration and testing.
We seek candidates with a strong background in mechanical design and engineering, interest in mechatronics, precision design, or optical systems, and good mechanical system intuition.
* Mechanical design exposure to kinematics, dynamics, material properties, and structural analysis.
* Experience with 3D solid modeling.
* Basic experience with analytical techniques, including engineering equations and Finite Element Analysis.
* Ability to derive conclusions from analysis and make practical recommendations.
* Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
