Are you a dedicated, compassionate and resilient educator who thrives on making a difference in the lives of young people? Prospero Teaching are seeking to appoint a fantastic Alternative Provision Tutor to work 1:1 with a young person in Year 9, currently on a partial school timetable, who needs support to reintegrate into full-time classroom learning.
About the Learner:
* At risk of permanent exclusion (PEX) and in need of a positive, consistent adult relationship.
* Currently working at a Year 6 level in English and Maths.
* Has SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs and may become emotionally dysregulated.
* Tuition will begin with a focus on engagement and trust-building, gradually introducing academic content.
* The goal is to support their transition back into full-time education in the next academic year.
As an Alternative Provision Tutor you will:
* Deliver 1:1 tuition for 15 hours per week (flexible timing)
* Create a safe, supportive learning environment
* Tailor sessions to meet the learner's academic and emotional needs
* Work collaboratively with other professionals involved in the learner's care
About you:
* Minimum 1 year of experience in UK schools as a TA, SEN TA, Cover Supervisor, Teacher, SENCO, or similar
* Experience supporting learners with SEMH needs
* Skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies
* Patient, empathetic, and able to build rapport and trust
* Confident in delivering KS2-level Maths and English, and engaging PSHE content
