Overview
We are looking to recruit passionate and motivated Senior Support Workers with a genuine interest in providing quality care to the people we support and joining our friendly and energetic staff team. We provide quality person-centred care and support to fifteen individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and additional mental health support needs to live exciting and independent lives. No two days will be the same at this service as we support service users in a supported living environment to follow their passions and engage in a range of activities including cooking/baking, walking, shopping and many more. The people we support would like someone who is kind, chatty, funny, honest, happy, outgoing and caring.
Responsibilities
* Supervising, managing and mentoring a team of staff
* Developing and sustaining warm and trusting relationships with service users
* Encouraging service users to engage in a range of social activities, both within and outside of their homes
* Providing personal care, administering medication and lone working
* Working full-time hours (37.5) on a rota basis, covering 7 days per week, including waking nights
* Overseeing staff deployment and rotas and working flexibly, including some evenings and weekends
* Working closely with local multi-disciplinary teams and community-based agencies to provide holistic, wrap-around support
* Facilitating service user engagement, involvement and peer support
* Ensuring robust methods of quality monitoring
You will provide excellent customer care and proactively communicate with stakeholders in respect to risk management and the care and welfare of the people we support. You will have a strong ethical duty of care and a commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
Qualifications and Experience
As this is a senior role, experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs is required.
