Job Description:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join Marshalls Land Systems (https://marshalladg.com/) and their team of Press Brake Setter/Operators, manufacturing mobile workspaces and their associated equipment. The role will be based at their facility in Cambridge (postcode CB5 8RX).
You will play an important role in some high-profile military projects, and your ideas and contributions will be valued in a business where people really matter. Training will be provided on the products, and there is scope for further development and progression within the company.
Pay rates:
* Standard pay: £19.69 per hour PAYE (holiday pay included)
* Over 37 hours: Time and a half, £29.54 per hour PAYE
* Sundays: £39.38 per hour PAYE
*Umbrella rates available; please enquire for details. Role is inside IR35.*
Contract duration: 6-12 months (potential for extension and permanent prospects).
Working hours: 7:15 am – 3:45 pm, Monday to Thursday, with a half day on Friday.
Purpose of the role:
* Operation and setting of CNC and manual machine tools (brake presses, saws, laser cutters)
* Machining of composite/metallic components to high standards
* Carrying out planned maintenance of machinery as per schedules
* Tooling modifications and repairs as detailed in manufacturing job cards and verbal instructions
* Ensuring all work is performed safely, in line with risk assessments and health and safety legislation
* Training will be provided for skill development outside the core job requirements
Experience and qualifications:
* Significant experience with CNC machines and manual machine tools
* Press brake experience highly desirable
* Extensive experience in component part manufacturing/assemblies in an engineering/manufacturing environment
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or time-served apprenticeship
* High standards of quality at work
* Ability to plan and prioritize workload
* Experience machining composite materials beneficial
* Flexible approach to work
