Marketing Director, Reporting to the Managing Director

We are working with an established and globally recognised B2B events and media portfolio that is entering a significant new phase of growth. Building on the success of its community-led flagship events within the luxury travel and hospitality sectors, the business is now expanding into large-format conference and exhibition (confex) models, alongside continued investment in its media platforms and international footprint.
This expansion includes the launch of major new events and planned growth across multiple global markets. As a result, the organisation is seeking an experienced, creative, and commercially driven Marketing Director to lead marketing strategy and execution during this pivotal period of scale.
Role Overview
The Marketing Director will own and lead the end-to-end marketing function for a diverse and fast-growing portfolio of B2B events and media products. This role is central to driving brand growth, supporting commercial performance, and accelerating audience acquisition across multiple geographies.
Operating at both a strategic and operational level, the successful candidate will bring structure, clarity, and momentum to the marketing function while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. They will work closely with senior stakeholders, sales, operations, and external partners to ensure marketing activity is tightly aligned with business objectives and market opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the full marketing remit across multiple products, markets, and event formats, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery.
* Translate commercial and growth objectives into clear, actionable marketing strategies and integrated campaign plans.
* Strengthen brand presence, market positioning, and audience engagement to support long-term portfolio growth.
* Partner closely with sales teams to deliver campaigns, tools, and collateral that directly support revenue and audience targets.
* Own and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and strong ROI.
Team Development & Culture
* Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary marketing team, providing clear direction, feedback, and coaching.
* Build a supportive, inclusive, and high-trust culture that enables individuals to perform at their best.
* Implement clear workflows, communication rhythms, and performance expectations to improve efficiency and cohesion.
Operational Excellence & Execution
* Oversee day-to-day campaign planning and execution, ensuring timelines, creative standards, and outputs are consistently met.
* Take a hands‑on approach where needed, including campaign development and onsite event delivery.
* Establish scalable processes, SOPs, and best practices to support repeatable success across a growing event portfolio.
Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Engagement
* Work collaboratively across departments to ensure marketing activity is fully aligned with event strategy and delivery.
* Act as a confident ambassador for marketing with senior internal stakeholders and external partners.
* Provide clear reporting and insight on marketing performance, risks, and opportunities.
About You
* Proven senior marketing leadership experience within B2B events, conferences, exhibitions, or high-value sectors such as travel, hospitality, or luxury.
* A strong blend of strategic thinking and hands‑on delivery capability.
* Commercially minded, with a clear understanding of how marketing drives audience growth and revenue.
* Highly organised, collaborative, and confident influencing at senior level.
* Strong knowledge of integrated online and offline marketing channels, marketing technology, and analytics.
