Summary: We are seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Gas Engineer to join our busy Facilities Management (FM) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services across contracts in Northern Ireland and occasionally further afield. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills, excellent client communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and compliance. The Role: Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) to reduce downtime and extend asset life. Respond to Reactive Maintenance issues and perform timely repairs. Maintain and repair building systems, boilers, and infrastructure. Conduct fabric and electrical testing to ensure compliance with safety standards. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction. Support Operations and Contracts Managers in planning and assessing work programmes. Use Mobile Workforce Management Tools for reporting, task updates, and communication. Ensure health & safety compliance and proactively manage site risks. Assist with procurement and logistics for materials and equipment. Participate in external inspections and audits with clients and internal SHEQ teams. Collaborate with the wider FM team to deliver efficient, high-quality service. The ideal candidate will have: A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role within facilities management or building services. Relevant trade-based qualifications in mechanical or electrical disciplines. Gas certifications, including: Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) Commercial Gas Safety (COCN1) Testing & Purging Pipework over 150mm (TPCP1) Testing & Purging Pipework under 150mm (TPCP1A) Domestic to Commercial Heating Changeover (CODNCO1) Strong technical knowledge across a range of building systems and equipment. Substantialexperience in testing, fault finding in a variety of plant such as gas boilers, heating plants, pumps & ventilation. Excellent communication skills, with a trustworthy and approachable manner. Highly organised and proactive, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities. Client-focused, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service. Flexible and dependable, with a positive, can-do attitude. Willingto work on our on-call rota. Valid CSR / CSCS Card, demonstrating awareness of health and safety standards on construction sites.
